TRACES OF LIFE

Kintsugi of Discarded Life Remains

Artist statement

Kintsugi embodies a philosophy of transforming imperfection and the history of breakage into a new form of beauty. Rather than concealing cracks and scars, it highlights them with gold, allowing the traces of damage to become part of the object's beauty.

In my work, I use discarded tree bark and gold leaf to give new meaning to what has been abandoned or considered useless. By revealing rather than hiding wounds and imperfections, I explore the possibility of healing, renewal, and transformation.
